The unsettled weather which brought strong winds and elevated tide levels along the south coast this week has now cleared the area. Saturday's afternoon tide at 15:30 on 13/04/2024 will be accompanied by strong South Westerly Force 5 winds. The weather will not change tide table values. The total forecast tide is 5.36 metres Chart Datum (2.31 mAOD) at Littlehampton. Approximately 1.3m lower than Monday evening. There will still be moderate waves, but only minimal flood impacts are now expected. Tides will now fall over the week ahead. In order to reduce flood risk to property, our operations staff are moving shingle to try and improve the beach crest. Access could be restricted during and after high tide. These works should be completed by the end of next week. We continue to monitor the forecast. We will re issue this Flood Alert if the risk of flooding becomes possible.
