Property flooding is not currently expected.
River levels are rising on the tributaries of the Upper River Thames due to rainfall overnight. Flooding of low lying land and roads is expected later this morning, 28/03/2024, especially on the Swill Brook around Oaksey and the River Key at Purton Stoke. Further heavy rainfall showers are forecast today, 28/03/2024, and overnight. River levels on the Swill Brook and River Key are expected to continue rising today. Levels will remain high and sensitive to further rainfall over the coming days.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 29/03/2024, or as the situation changes.
