Wyre Estuary

Flood Alert

A Flood Alert is in force for the high tide on Saturday 21st October at 12:58 BST. Strong winds are forecast to cause waves overtopping sea defences and sea spray. The location we forecast to be affected is Hambleton. Onshore flooding may occur to roads and low lying land along the coast. People are warned to be cautious when using coastal roads, promenades and footpaths around the period of the high tide. Environment Agency Officers will be monitoring sea levels and checking defences. High water can be expected for 1 hour before and after the peak of the High Tide. The tide at 01:14 BST on Sunday 22nd October is not forecast to reach Flood Alert. We will be closely monitoring the situation throughout the day and this message will be updated as the situation changes.
